Our goal is to provide true options for pregnant people of color. So many people think that if they don’t fit a certain social or economic status, they have only one option and that is to deliver at a hospital. Delivering Unto You wants you to know that you DO have options no matter your social or economic status!

Maternity Care Fund

Delivering Unto You (DUY) is providing financial support for midwifery care and holistic services for birthing people of color. This support includes direct payment to the midwife providing care and access to contracted services with DUY such as massage therapy, chiropractic service, and prenatal yoga. If you are seeking the more compassionate and personalized care that is offered under the Midwifery model of care but are experiencing financial barriers please contact us so we can can help!

Q. What is the Maternity Care Fund?

A. It provides financial support for people of color who wish to have midwifery care in Austin, TX and surrounding areas.

Q. How much can I receive?

A. Each birthing person can receive up to $1,500 for midwifery service.

Q. How do I qualify?

A. You must be a family of color and live in Travis, Williamson, Bastrop, Caldwell or Hays County.

Q. I have reasons for seeing an OB, but would like more personalized care, can I apply for funding?

A. Yes! We have contracted midwives that will provide supplemental care, better known as Monitrice Services!

Our Founder/Director Denise Washington is helping provide options now as a student midwife working with Felisa Yzaguirre, LM. Felisa and Denise are seeing patients for birth center, home births, Supplemental care (aka monitrice service) and hospital planed birth for those who are not comfortable delivering out of the hospital.

Delivering Unto You Community Birth Center

We remain passionately committed to the pursuit of opening the first black owned Birthing Center in Austin, Texas. A center dedicated to serving the Black and Brown community will address a significant gap in Austin and for the many families that so desperately need this care and support. It is critical that we find a lasting home that meets our commitment to high standards of quality care, and the growing demand for safe birthing options supported by midwives of color.

Q: When will the Birth Center Open?

A: Our shared birth center space is scheduled to be ready by November 2023!

Q: Will you take insurance or Medicaid?

A: We will not be able to take insurance or Medicaid for the Midwifery care fee when we first open since it will take some time to get in network with them. However the Birth Center Space we are renting is in Network with Superior Medicaid!

Q: How much will service cost?

A: We offer a sliding scale of $2,500-$5,500 for out of Hospital Births and $1,500-$2,500 for planned hospital births. Patients pick the amount that is most comfortable for them. Payment plans are available.

Q: What if I am unable to pay?

A: Our goal is to provide service to all who seek it. If we have funding available you can request assistance under our Maternity Care program and no cost Birth Center birth or planned Hospital birth can be provided upon income verification If there is no funding we can offer supplemental care at no cost.

Q: Are you taking patients now?

A: YES! We are currently taking patients for birth center, home birth, hospital plan birth, and supplemental care.

Q: Where will my prenatal appointments take place at?

A: Currently we have one office in Manor, TX and a second office will be opening in Central Austin in December 2023!
